On July 7, Russian architects will celebrate their professional holiday at the official level for the first time.
Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed the corresponding decree on March 7, 2025. The Union of Architects of Russia and the Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Utilities initiated the establishment of Architect's Day. The idea was supported by the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and the Russian Academy of Sciences.
From now on, Russian architects will celebrate their professional holiday every year on the first Monday in July. This year, it falls on July 7th.
Previously, Russia's architectural community celebrated World Architecture Day in October. The new date will highlight the national significance of the profession and draw attention to its role in the country's development.
Architects are more than just specialists. They are artists of space, engineers of emotion, and conduits for the ideas of the future. Their work influences the perception of the city, people's moods, and the rhythm of life.
For many years, the MosBuild exhibition has supported the architectural community, from leading firms to emerging professionals. We annually host the MosBuild Architecture & Design Awards (MADA) – a competition created to support and promote talented young architects and designers. We are proud that our exhibition uncovers new talent and earns recognition within the industry.
Architects are also a regular presence among MosBuild visitors. This year, the exhibition was attended by 80,748 professionals, including 3,602 (5%) architectural designers.
